The tent is made from tough 320gsm poly cotton ripstop canvas with high-quality polyester medium to heavy gauge self-repairing coil zips.

All seams are sewn with a poly cotton core spun thread allowing for natural cotton swelling ensuring needle holes are filled and watertight when wet. The 75mm high-density open cell foam mattress makes for a comfortable night’s sleep.

The roof top tent is fully waterproof due to blade coat waterproofing application, and the windows feature a polyester sand-fly and midge-proof mesh woven using one of the finest mesh grids available – 150gm/M2. This still maintains anti-tear characteristics.

All non-UV items such as elastic loops used traditionally to secure window toggles have been removed and replaced with bound poly cotton adding strength and eliminating premature degradation.

The aluminium ladder is suitable for installation on almost any model of 4WD coming to a total of 2.1m high.

Overall dimensions when packed away, measure in at 2120mm long, by 1270mm wide, by 320mm high, and it weighs 66kg. You also get an included heavy-duty fitting kit included to easily attach to a flat platform style roofrack or a set of roof crossbars, thanks to ultra-strong under-side bracing rails.

POP UP ROOFTOP TENTS

When rooftop tents first hit the market they were revolutionary, mostly because your tent and mattress (the two things that take up the most packing space) were now conveniently stored on your car roof. Of course, there are many more benefits to owning a rooftop tent, but likewise, there are plenty of cons, too.

Fortunately, most of these drawbacks are associated with soft-shell rooftop tents, as well as heavy canvas units that are difficult to flip open. For these reasons, the Pinnacle Tooftop Tent has always followed a hard-shell design. The benefits of this setup include…

FUNCTIONALITY

Thanks to the Pinnacle Tent’s robust aluminium housing, you have the option of fitting our Aluminium Roof Rack. This means you can still pack large bulky items on top of your tent. Whether it be a solar panel, camping table, kayak, mountain bike, the Pinnacle Rooftop Tent doesn’t prevent you from packing gear on your roof like other rooftop tents do.

INSULATION

Recognizing that our tents are used by extreme adventure travelers across the globe, we wanted to build a tent that offered the best possible insulation against blazing African heat, as well as sub-zero temperatures found in Europe and North America. That said, the Pinnacle roof structure and base are generously insulated with a closed-cell foam lining that offers excellent comfort and insulation all year round. We’ve also included an awning cover over the tent’s rear door, which helps to keep rain, snow and frost off the rear opening.
